BETH’S EDBETH’S EDUCATIONAL FUND: PRAISE THE LORD!

Beth Bishop Birech College Family joins Beth for fundraising
Few months ago, we shared Beth’s educational program and particularly the need to raise financial support for her study. We asked people to pray and where possible support financially. What we have witnessed since then is amazing.

In the first place, our church accepted to host a fundraising towards the study program. This fundraising was placed on 29/11/09. Secondly, two major committees were established to help in the planning. One committee was meeting at our house (home) and another committee was meeting at our church’s chairman house.

Our family members in Kenya and those in Diaspora also met to discuss the issue. The Jack and Nancy and Dale and Mandy Schneitmanm shared the concern to their Sunday School. Marcia Hopler who has known Beth since she was young seriously prayed for the course and offered to financially support us.

NOW WE SMILE FOR THE ANSWERED PRAYER.

On 22nd November,09, the Sunday School at First Baptist made an offering for Beth’s Educational fund. At the same time, friends and neighbours met at our home and made some substantial contribution. On 29th November,09 the major fundraising event at our church made a significant progress towards Beth’s Educational Fund.

This small group and others who may not be present made a significant impact on Beth’s educational fund. Our ministry is situated in the rural areas of Kenya as is evident in the picture. Contrary to what others may expect, Kenya’s rural life is hard. We have poor infrastructure, poverty and low standards of living irrespective of untapped resources. However, the sense of community is strong in Kenya’s rural as opposed to urban life.

The fundraising and other contributions made earlier realised slightly more than half of what Beth needs for her study. This is beyond our expectation and it excites us. You recall in the previous update we had indicated that she needed US $ 6430 (Kshs. 450,000) to complete her three year study.

THIS EXERCISE MAKES US RECALL OUR ENCOURAGEMENT TO CHRISTIANS TO REALIZE THEIR GOD GIVEN POTENTIAL

Years back Isaac presented a paper that encouraged African Christians to realise that they had something at hand, all that was needed was its utilisation. In the concluding remarks, he challenged Christians to place whatever they had on the Master’s hand and he would multiply it just as he did to the five loaves and two fishes. This appears to be what happened on 29th. November,09 and few weeks preceding this. The Christians placed whatever they had on the Master’s hand and he multiplied it beyond the expectation. We praise the Lord so much for this.

THIS MOTIVATES US TO SERVE HIM MORE AND MORE

What has been done to us by our Christian friends is so motivational. It shows that our labour in the Lord has never been in vain. It is a clear confirmation from the Lord that he is pleased with what we are doing. It is also a clear message from our Lord that whatever he has began in us, he will bring to full completion.

Beth cannot hide her smile and has the following message.

“What you people have done, I cannot repay you, but ask the Lord to richly bless you and what you are doing. May he increase your joy and award you his love and peace not as the world gives but as he himself supplies to his dear children. May you find favour in his eyes and may his will be always revealed to you. I ask that you cease not to pray for me so that the Lord may cause me to be faithful to him and make me the servant that he desires. THANK YOU SO MUCH, HALLELUHYA! SHALOM”.
